STEPS TO CHOOSING GOOD ENGINEERING COLLEGE

Despite getting a good rank, students falter in choosing a good engineering college because of lack of information. Here are some steps which help to choose a college
Step-I
Make a list of Colleges you are interested in and check the college that you can get in your rank by a simply compression from the last year counseling. To check the last year counseling rank and college. Choose another few that are safe bets that you. And before finalizing go through the following points.
Step-II
Now you have prepared a list of college where you can take admission. Make a table write the name of all college you have shortlisted and put all the point (mentioned below) in the above of the table and give marks in each college to individual points at last count the final points of the college and come to the conclusion.
Infrastructureinfrastructure play a very important role in the education of course buildings is not the best gauge to measure infrastructure anyway. See how well the labs equipped. Does the computer lab has computers and work shop has lathes? If yes, are there enough for each to get his own decent time share on them? Do they just keep them for 'show' or do they actually allow students work on them? It might be difficult to get all these info straightaway so ask the current students.
Faculty: In engineering colleges Faculty won’t 'teach' you the way they do in school. The best of the teachers merely provoke you to think on your own. May the worst teachers give class notes and tell you which questions are going to come for the test. So if you want to become a 'real' engineer, go for a college that has well qualified, experienced teaching staff. A strong faculty ensures good academics and collaboration in industry. So to get the right feedback in this regard the best way is to interact with the student who are studying in the same college

Alumni
 – A strong alumni speaks volumes about the quality of the college and helps a lot in terms of placements. Of course it is not only the building and teachers that make a good college. Be careful about the quality of your classmates. Your friend circle plays an important role in molding your character. If with a suitable company, you will learn how to think big, how to apply your knowledge...overall how to be successful. So for this you can interact with your good friend who have got equivalent rank and try to join in the same college.
Reputation and placements: This is something that offers no shortcuts for colleges to gain some of these. You can’t make a college reputed overnight nor you can attract companies to hire your students unless you have a very good track record. It of course helps to have good alumni base. The placement statistics of the college are really important. However, students are generally misled with fake placement reports from different websites and magazines. A true picture of placement is critical and should be obtained from reliable sources. to compare different college you can see the top 100 engineering college of India (click hear)
Industry Reputation of college – in engineering course it is very important that which industry you have done the summer camp or you have taken training and such training is mainly depend upon the industry reputation of the college a good collaboration with different industry verticals is important as it provides a platform to apply the theoretical fundamentals learnt at college to the practical work. Industry links help in getting live projects, industry visits, seminars and placements and the most important is a student gets good exposure of engineering works.

Living expenses and standard: Doing engineering is not only about studying for 4 years but also about living for 4 years. It pays to live in a place which has good standard of living at affordable costs. check the monthly expenses and the final four year fee of the college this point will help you to choice between two similar colleges having same marks from all the above point .
Branch - Choose a college according to the stream you looking for. A college which is very good in Stream A may be a bad choice for stream B. while choosing the stream keep in mind that a good steam is very important and it must given same weighted as you give to college .if between two college X college get 1 point less than college Y in your table but in college X you are getting good steam than give preference to college X.

Location – As long as there is no family constraint, location should not be criteria for choosing a college. If there is hardly any difference between two colleges, choose the one nearer to home. However the college in the town or city which have a proper airport must have an edge as compare to other which haven’t airport because company during the campus interview give preference to such college which are in the city which have airport.
