1. Google Nexus 7 (8GB)

Price: Between 13,000 – 15,000


Well if you’re thinking of picking up a budget 7-inch tablet then Google Nexus 7 is your answer. Nexus 7 has been termed as the “iPad killer”, bur actually it is placed in the market as direct competition to Amazon’s Kindle. This will be the first tablet which can give you the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean experience.


The 7-inch screen has a resolution of 1280 X 800 pixels and also has an IPS LCD which makes viewing the screen comfortable. It is powered by a quad-core Tegra 3 processor which promises the user fast performance. The only drawback of the tablet is that it doesn’t have a rear camera.


The Nexus 7 is available on the Google Store, but as of now it has been removed as the Google is facing heavy booking. The tablet will be back in the store shortly and make sure to do the booking fast


2. Barnes & Noble Nook Tablet (16GB)

Price: Between 12,000 – 13,000


With a reasonable price tag, the Barnes & Noble Nook Tablet is a gadget worth having. The 7-inch tablet has a screen resolution of 1,024 X 6000 pixels with an IPS LCD screen. The tablet is powered by a 1GHz dual-core TI Omap 4 processor. It has an internal memory of 16GB and it also has a slot for microSD card with expandable memory of up to 32GB.


The tablet boasts of up to 11.5 hours reading or 9 hours video. Along with the slate of books and magazines there are also many apps that are available in the Nook store. Though it has access to the Nook Store it has only limited access to the Android market.Like the Google Nexus this tablet also does not have a camera, which tends to be a big drawback in the minds of the consumer.


3. Amazon Kindle Fire

Price: 11,000

The 7-inch Capacitive Multi-touch Kindle Fire has a screen resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels. Like the previous two tablets Amazon’s Kindle Fire also has an IPS LCD. The tablet is powered by a dual core, 1000 MHz TI OMAP4 processor and an internal memory of 512 MB RAM. The device comes with an internal memory of 8 GB and a piece of disappoint is that there isn’t any slot provided for microSD card to expand the memory. The Kindle Fire links with Amazon’s collection of digital music, video, magazines and books. Though the screen brightness is slightly on the lower side and it could have been better providing the users with better view feature.



4. Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 

Price: Between 13,500 and 14,500


The Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 is a 7-inch tablet with a screen resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels. The tablet is powered with a 1GHz Dual-core Processor. It operates on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system.  It is one of the few tablets that give the user an amazing experience with Android 4.0. In comparison to its competition, Amazon’s Kindle Samsung has front and rear cameras, a slot for expandable memory of up to 32 GB. The rear camera has a 3.0 Megapixel. The Galaxy Tab’s camera quality and performance is lower when compared to other tablets.


The Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0, is a complete value for money Android based tablet.
